Terms of Service

ContractCheck is an AI-powered contract risk-flagging tool. It highlights potentially unfavorable clauses, hidden traps, and missing protections. It also offers lifecycle reminders and verbal-promise reconciliation.

The service is informational and does not constitute legal advice, nor does it replace the professional judgment of a qualified lawyer.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. We use magic-link authentication — no passwords — so keep your email secure. You are responsible for actions initiated from your inbox.

One account per person. No reselling, no account sharing, no automated high-volume API abuse.

You retain full intellectual property rights in the contracts you upload. We only process that content to fulfill your request (analysis, storage, reminders), strictly limited to what is necessary to provide the service.

We never use your contracts to train any AI model, and never sell, rent, or share them with any third party (except Anthropic as API provider, which runs under Zero Retention).

You may not: (a) upload contracts you do not lawfully own or have authorization to analyze; (b) reverse-engineer, scrape, or adversarially probe the service; (c) use the service for unlawful purposes or to facilitate fraud or infringement; (d) attempt to bypass rate limits, paywalls, or security controls.

Violations may result in account termination and, where warranted, referral to law enforcement.

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record), which handles tax and invoicing. Subscriptions auto-renew; you can cancel at any time in your account page and retain access through the end of the current period.

Refund policy: within 7 days of purchase and with fewer than 3 analyses used, you may request a full refund. Beyond that window or with heavy usage, refunds are not available except where required by law.

Reports are generated by Claude (an LLM developed by Anthropic). AI can make mistakes — it can miss risks, misclassify safe clauses, or imprecisely cite statutes. Do not rely on this tool alone for material signing decisions.

For any high-stakes contract, consult a qualified lawyer. Every report includes a disclaimer to this effect.

We target 99.5% monthly availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (Anthropic, Supabase, Vercel), or force majeure may cause temporary downtime.

Material incidents will be announced via the status page (once established) and by email.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ContractCheck and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Aggregate direct-damages liability is capped at the fees you actually paid us in the preceding 12 months.

This clause does not limit liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct, nor does it exclude any non-waivable rights granted to you by consumer-protection law.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time; material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days in advance. You can delete your account at any time — one click wipes everything, with backups purged within 72 hours.

These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China). Any dispute arising under these terms shall be brought before the Taipei District Court as court of first instance, without prejudice to any rights you have under consumer protection law.
